Martini Fans, ahoy! Check out these 5 Star for sure reasons to travel the high seas in luxury “to get your martini on” aboard one of Celebrity Cruises’ incredible itineraries across the globe this year.

1) PERFECT LOCATION: 5 Star Travel Guru’s “go-to” venue for martinis while traveling that’s totally #extra in so many ways, is on any of Celebrity Cruises’ Millennium or Solstice Class cruise ships. In fact, it’s a primary reason 5 Star travelers keep coming back to this luxury cruise line again and again. Positioned front and center in the Grand Foyer of these contemporary, chic cruise ships is where martini magic is made: the iconic Martini Bar & Crush.

2) CHIC ATMOSPHERE: The ice-covered Martini Bar on every ship is a contemporary hub to congregate. The bar’s ample seating, champagne white décor, icicle chandeliers, and retro-circular spirit displays that evoke a South Beach, dream-like environment with blue accents and rounded edges. Natural light streams in by day, but when the sun sinks into the sea, nighttime mood lighting enhances the frosted theme. With views of the vast ocean on the one side and the Grand Foyer on the other, the Martini Bar venue is a spectacle of sorts, and its energy is palpable. The sprawling shaved ice-topped bar provides the stage for practiced, performing bartenders who put on a show pouring a vast menu of delicious libations while juggling bottles and shakers to the beat. The high-energy drink-making display is sure to captivate with periodic finales of professionals pouring 15 or more martinis into different glasses all at the same. On many nights, one of the ships DJs spins tunes creating an irresistible and infectious vibe. The cheers, laughter, and contemporary beats draw in crowds like a snake charmer as people pass through the Grand Foyer every night without fail. It won’t be a whole day on board before you, too are drawn in to see what all the buzz is about.

3) MIXOLOGY DREAM: With over 100 vodkas from around the world, there’s nothing you can’t think up that these accomplished mixologists can’t make. Specialties include Lychee Martinis, Flirtinis, Espresso Martinis, Chocolate Martinis, and Cosmos. If you’re more traditional like me and a nice crisp dry Martini is your swag, no worries—they have all the standards, like my personal favorite, a Chopin Vodka Martini extra dry with a twist. This simple, yet very difficult drink to make just right, is perfectly presented here—I’ll say on par with Le Bar at the Four Seasons George V in Paris. And if martinis aren’t your thing, this grand martini bar is over-stocked to pour literally anything else you can dream up.

And, oh yeah, did I mention you’re on a luxury ship and you’re going somewhere incredible? What better way to travel somewhere fabulous than on an ocean-going vessel that caters to people like us—those that appreciate the finer things while not forgetting that celebration is a big part of the journey.

4) TASTY TASTINGS: Throughout the cruise, stop by any afternoon and throughout the night for selected Martini flight tastings with new and old friends. Also enjoy occasional caviar tastings to pair perfectly with your favorite drink.

5) COMMUNAL CRUSH: Adjacent to the lively Martini Bar is Crush. This separate iced tabletop setting is surrounded by a gallery of Vodkas from around the world. It is the perfect spot to gather your larger group together or do an arranged tasting while still taking in the surrounding Martini Bar atmosphere.

The modern luxury vibe, a theme infused across the cruise line in all of their venues and staterooms abounds at Martini Bar & Crush, and Celebrity has their trademark “World At Your Service” pledge to deliver a pinnacle of service excellence to every guest. It’s hard to describe, but somehow you always feel taken care of as if you were famous, no matter who you are, from the moment you board until you disembark.

The next time you are planning a cruise, check it out. Even on more quiet cruise itineraries, you’ll always find some action at Martini Bar & Crush literally every day. If you need me, you can find this 5 Star traveler down on Deck 5 at Crush. #SorryNotSorry

PROS: Martini Bar & Crush venues have a similar atmosphere across the fleet with some slight variations that bring a unique flavor to each, and know you can always count on a consistent incredible experience.

CONS: On newer Celebrity’s Solstice Class ships, you’ll find a more expansive space with cabanas lining the full back wall providing gathering spots for your group; while Celebrity’s Millennium Class ships provide a more intimate venue that still has luxury space to gather tightly around the iced top bar. However, note on many occasions during the cruise on any of the ships, it sometimes just gets overcrowded at certain points. Often times we may opt for a more tranquil tasty libation in the Ensemble or Rendezvous Lounge or Cellar Masters wine venues. There are plenty of opportunities to go back.
