Santa Fe, New Mexico
Santa Fe, New Mexico calls itself “The City Different”
Santa Fe, New Mexico is really a must-visit, quirky little city with an amazing history and culture. They have something for you at every time of year. Skiing is great from January through April and art galleries and diverse visual arts span ancient traditional art to the most contemporary, making it one of the largest and most important art markets in the country. If you’re a collector, this is the place to buy.
Check out 4th Friday Canyon Road Art Walk which is held every 4th Friday of the month. Galleries up and down historic Canyon Road have joined together to remain open at least until 7 pm every fourth Friday of the month.
Last Friday Art Walk is an exciting, world-class contemporary art experience at the hip Railyard Arts District at night. RAD (The Railyard Art District), a cooperative of 10 Railyard art galleries, so that is also a great event to attend.

Santa Fe’s restorative powers are legendary. A virtual oasis in the high desert, Santa Fe offers a variety of spas staffed by master healers and bodyworkers. There is a multitude of day spas, but also wonderful treatments to be had at our two favorites:
Four Seasons Resort Ranch Encantado Santa Fe
Located in Santa Fe, Four Seasons Resort Rancho Encantado Santa Fe is a 10-minute drive from Santa Fe Opera and Poeh Museum. Pamper yourself with a visit to the spa, which offers massages, body treatments, and facials. If you’re looking for recreational opportunities, you’ll find an outdoor pool, a spa tub, and a steam room.
La Posada de Santa Fe, a Tribute Portfolio Resort & Spa
Relax at the full-service spa, where you can enjoy massages, body treatments, and facials. You’re sure to appreciate the recreational amenities, including an outdoor pool, a spa tub, and a steam room.
A few quirky things you’ll find about the city:
Dirt roads. Yes. 75% of New Mexico roads are unpaved. You may run into one or two, even close to the city.
Meow Wolf’s House of Eternal Return. Like Alice in Wonderland on acid.
Tailgating at The Santa Fe Opera. Complete with champagne, gourmet meals, and candles, you’ll see opera-goers dressed to the nines and yes, tailgating in the parking lots. It’s amazing. https://www.santafeopera.org
Eat at Sazon, Geronimo, and The Compound Restaurant offer amazing fine dining experiences that you will not forget.
If you’re out at a more casual spot and want a local dish, it’s going to come smothered in the most delicious chile sauce. When your server asks you if you want red or green, you say, “Christmas.” That means you’ll get both red and green sauces, and it’s a worthy decision. Be careful, the chile is an addictive little bugger. You’ll never forget them and there is no 12 step program to help you out of your chile-less life once you leave magical New Mexico.
